Data Privacy Commitment As a volunteer, you may / or may not come across information regarding a student that is deemed private -AND- that you further commit to treating ALL information as confidential. It is very important to PRMS that all volunteers refrain from discussing any student or their family with others, except your own of course!
Thank you in advance for your hard work and dedication to our school, staff, and students!
VolunteeringIn general terms, volunteering is the practice of people working on behalf of others or a particular cause without payment for their time and services. Volunteering is generally intended to promote good or to improve quality of life. But people also volunteer for their own skill development, to meet others, to make contacts for possible employment, to have fun, and a variety of other reasons.
There are many opportunities for volunteering at PRMS. You can volunteer in the school store, production, with spirit treats, do at-home projects, and help with special events. To learn more, talk to the Volunteer Coordinator, Danny Hussmann or watch the newsletter and Facebook page (PRMS PTO) for opportunities as they arise. “Do what you can…when you can!”
Reporting Your Volunteer HoursThe most common statement we hear from parents is that they do not report their volunteer hours because they do not volunteer for any sort of recognition. However, it is very important to report your hours (start time AND end time) for a few reasons…1) The District tracks our reported volunteer hours and uses them as a measurement of District support for volunteer programs at the site level.2) It is a tangible account, not only to the District, but to other schools and potential parents as well, of how much we love and support our school, staff, and its student body!
How Do I Report My Volunteer Hours? The only 2 ways to report your hours! • Computer (laptop) in the main office • If doing work at home and unable to login – contact KC Thorsen (Katish425@comcast.net) with your hours
